A story about Calvin Johnson
I met Calvin Johnson at a concert and then a few months down the road, he saw me on a networking site and IMed me. We got into an argument about reparations for descendants of African slaves. I guess he wasn’t too bothered by that because the next time he had a concert in my city and I wasn’t there, he IMed me afterwards asking me where I was, lol. I haven’t talked to him since then but he was a cool guy.
I also accidentally found his luggage tag with his home address on it one time. I don’t have that anymore though, so whatever.
A story about Kurt Vonnegut
My senior year in high school, I was at a gas station and had a copy of Breakfast of Champions sitting visibly in my passenger seat.
He showed up but I didn’t realize it was him and he said hello to me and commented on the book and I said something along the lines of, “Yeah it’s one of the greatest books I’ve ever read.”
I didn’t realize until after I had left that it was him.
